Privacy Policy

MaMills is a game by Department of Ducks. The short version: the game collects no personal data, and this website sets no cookies and runs no trackers or analytics.
Who is responsible
The data controller for anything described here is the individual trading as Department of Ducks, based in Hungary. The quickest way to reach us about privacy is mamillsgame@gmail.com; the contact page lists what else that address covers.
The game
MaMills has no accounts, no ads, and no analytics. It does not collect, transmit, or sell personal information. Your settings, statistics, and saved games are written to your own device.
Steam
If you play through Steam, Valve processes achievements, cloud saves, Steam Remote Play Together, and store activity under its own Steam privacy policy. Two specifics worth naming:
- Steam Cloud. When it is enabled, Steam copies your save and settings files to Valve's servers so they follow you between machines. You can turn this off in the game's properties in your Steam library.
- Steam Remote Play Together. The game shows no names: players appear as their cylinder colours. Steam's own invite and overlay show your Steam name to the friend you invite.
What Steam reports back to us is mostly aggregate: sales, wishlists, and usage figures for the game as a whole. Some Steam features do show us an account name - reviews, discussion posts, and any support message you send us through Steam.
itch.io
If you buy through itch.io, that purchase is governed by itch.io's privacy policy. Cloud saves, achievements, and statistics do not sync there - those are Steam features.
LAN play
LAN matches connect two machines directly on your local network. Nothing passes through our servers - we have none. To join a match, the two devices exchange the host's local network address, which is visible to the other player.
If you write to us, we process what you send: your email address, your message, and anything you attach. We use it only to answer you and to fix what you reported - never to market to you, and we never sell or pass it on. The legal basis is our legitimate interest in supporting the people who play our game (Article 6(1)(f) GDPR), or performance of a contract where your message concerns a purchase (Article 6(1)(b)). Our mailbox is hosted by Google, so mail is stored on Google's servers under its own terms and international transfer safeguards. We delete support correspondence within 24 months unless we still need it for a legal reason.
Your rights
If we hold personal data about you - in practice, only email you have sent us - you have the right to ask for a copy of it, to have it corrected or deleted, to restrict or object to how we use it, and to receive it in a portable form. Write to mamillsgame@gmail.com and we will answer within one month.
If you think we have handled your data badly, you can complain to the Hungarian supervisory authority, the Nemzeti Adatvédelmi és Információszabadság Hatóság (NAIH), or to the authority in your own EU country.
Children
MaMills is suitable for all ages, but this site is not directed at children and we do not knowingly collect data from them. If a child has written to us, tell us and we will delete the message.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as the game or site changes. The date at the top reflects the latest revision.
